Billion Dollar EdTech Idea 4: The ‘Cabverse’ to help you fall in love with your city

Uber claims to complete 20M rides every day across different cities in the world. If you add up taxis and all the other forms of cab hailing, this number could be 70M. Assuming an average distance of 10Km (6mile) for each ride, we’re talking about a total distance of 700MKm (1Billion miles) traveled by humans. Further, assuming each ride lasts 20 min, we’re spending about 25M hours in cabs - every DAY!

That’s a massive opportunity to capture people’s attention & help them learn. But learn something that’s unique, experiential & combines the design elements of a car. And obviously something you can’t get on your Coursera mobile app! What if there was a way for you to build a deeper connection with your city while in a cab?

Presenting the idea of an ‘Cabverse’ where you can:

  • Access a library of historical stories, for every Km of your city.

  • Fall in love with your city by becoming more aware of every nook & corner.

  • Stream content across windows of the cab, to experience a new form of metaverse like automobile learning experience

  • Seamlessly transition between stories of your city as your cab uses GPS to drive through different localities.

  • Elevate everyday traffic frustrations into an adventurous learning encounters.

To top it off with some perspective, 92M learners learned on Coursera for a total of about 170M hours last YEAR - a duration that would take 1 week to complete in cabs around the world!

So the next time you take an Uber, look through the windows as your car drives by, and wonder how each of those locations can come to life to teach you something new about your city.

Happy Cabversing!
